Τι περίπτωση κι αυτός ο Ghislain Poirier! Ξεκίνησε με ένα minimal ambient lp στο γνωστό label 12k (του Taylor Dupree) και έφτασε να γίνει (μαζί με τον Diplo) πρωταγωνιστής του βορειοαμερικάνικου άξονα Montreal-Baltimore, μιας σκηνής που καίει από όπου κι αν την πιάσεις: soca, dancehall, grime, tropical beats, lazer bass και γενικά ο Τέταρτος Κόσμος σε όλο του το μεγαλείο. Η εξυπνάδα του Ghislain Poirier ήταν ότι κράτησε από τον minimal ήχο την reductionary τακτική, απογυμνώνοντας όλα τα είδη στον ελάχιστο κοινό παρονομαστή τους: το μπάσο και τα κύμβαλα του 808! Ο ήχος του είναι καταιγιστικός, με μια συνεχή ώθηση προς τα μπροστά, σαν εμβατήριο, που συνοδεύει έναν πολιτικά ριζοσπαστικό λόγο από τους mc's. Το ηλεκτρονικό στοιχείο εμφανίζεται κυνικά, αντιπροσωπεύει την τεχνολογία ως φονικό όπλο, απελευθερώνοντας βόμβες διασποράς, σε αιματηρά μπλοκ με ιθαγενή χρώματα αυλών και μελωδικών κρουστών... Ακούγεται λίγο βάναυσο, και το συχνό rap στα γαλλικά το κάνει ακόμη πιο ειρωνικό και μελαγχολικό.
