Look, I got kicked out of school in year 7. the first year I didn’t have no qualifications, I didn’t have no job, I was a yout from like seven, eight years old I always wanted my own money. Got kicked out of school. No job. Ended up hitting the roads and doing all the crazy stuff to get money, but still didn’t get no money. I moved away and I was doing some road stuff, some stuff I’m actually proud of, but you know what: it built me as a person. You have to go through certain things to be able to say, “do you know what, that isn’t for me…”. Then I started doing music. And luckily enough, I got away with… murder, basically. I got away with a lot of stuff and just said “yeah, alright I’m meant to do music. This is what I’m meant to do.” [...] Now,  I’m basically in studio, every day. I wake up, push some weights, go downstairs straight into studio and do my work. It’s Tyrone’s studio. Me, Tyrone and Dennis Rowe – the man who runs Saxon Sound, we’re in a yard, a lot of people live there: it’s just a team. DIRTY ON BEATS - RIGHTEOUS OPINIONS

Ask many Grime fans who the most underrated man in the scene is - both in terms of production and MCing - and they'll answer Dot Rotten. λέει το FACT. Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι πως ο εικοσάχρονος (!) Jonathan Ellis (aka Dot Rotten) είναι πολύ γενναιόδωρο παιδί. Και σίγουρα έχει λόγους να ευγνωμονεί τη μουσική και τους ακροατές του, αφού μόνο πέφτοντας με μανία στη μουσική Grime κατάφερε τελικά να απομακρυνθεί από το κύκλωμα του δρόμου που τον έθρεψε ως τότε. Το 2007, και όντας μόλις 17 χρονών, ο Dot κατάφερε να μπει στο top-5 του Blackdown για τη χρονιά εκείνη, φτιάχνοντας ένα mixtape που συζητιέται ακόμα. Αγωνιώδη beats, και λέξεις που ρέουν παράξενα, διασχίζοντας τους πιο παράξενους δρόμους που συνάντησε ο νεαρός Dot, μεταλλικοί ήχοι που γυαλίζουν στη νύχτα, σημαίνοντας θάνατο. Το "This is the Begginning" mixtape, για το οποίο ο λόγος, ήταν και παραμένει μια free-downloading κυκλοφορία-υπόδειγμα. Εκτός του καταπληκτικού flow που διαθέτει, εκτός από τον λόγο του, που αφορά τη συνείδηση του δρόμου αλλά και τη σημερινή αφοσίωσή του στο Ισλάμ, ο Dot φτιάχνει και πολύ δεμένα beats και instrumentals, που καρφώνονται στο δέρμα και σε ρουφάνε! 

Πενήντα (50) από τα αμέτρητα instrumentals του Dot Rotten βγήκαν και διανέμονται δωρεάν εδώ και λίγες ημέρες με απόφαση του ίδιου. Break through!
